Abhijeet Kelkar is an Indian actor, singer, and dancer born on 21 March 1982 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. A talented multi-faceted performer, he began his career with theatre and made his television debut in 2001 with the Marathi serial Char Divas Sasuche. He became a familiar face in the Marathi TV industry with a recurring lead role in Oon Paus Oon Paus (2005, representing the character Rakesh) and Tuza Maza Jamena. His 2001 Marathi TV appearance brought him critical recognition. His film debut came with Mi Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy (2009, directed by Santosh Manjrekar) playing Rahul Bhosale - the film became a blockbuster, collecting ₹25 crore on a ₹3 crore budget, and won the Maharashtra State Film Award for Best Film. He gained further acclaim for his supporting role as Mahadev in the critically lauded Kaksparsh (2012). He is also a gifted theatre artist and won the Mata Sanman Award and the Maharashtra State Award for Best Actor in 2014 for the Marathi play Ekda Pahave Na Karun. He is also known for his fabric painting hobby. He is married and has twins - a son Malhar Kelkar and a daughter Radha Kelkar. In 2019, he participated in Bigg Boss Marathi Season 2 on Colors Marathi hosted by Mahesh Manjrekar and was evicted in Week 11 (Day 76), finishing 8th. The season's host Mahesh Manjrekar also directed Mi Shivajiraje Bhosale Boltoy, creating a unique parallel in Kelkar's career.
