Akbar Khan (full name Akbar P.V.) is a Malayalam playback singer, live performer, and music mentor born on 7 June 1993 in Kunnamkulam, Thrissur, Kerala. He attended St. Francis Higher Secondary School, Mattom, and Depaul English Higher Secondary School, Choondal, before earning a B.Com (Finance) from Prathibha College, Punnayurkulam. He is married to Shereen Khan. Before achieving his breakthrough, Akbar supported his family by working as a JCB driver and Uber taxi driver while continuing to pursue music. He came to national attention through the reality show Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Keralam (2019), where he won the title of Best Performer of the Season. He also participated in the shows Mylanchi and Patturumal. As a playback singer, he has worked with composers Gopi Sundar, Shaan Rahman, and Kailas Menon, singing in films including Margamkali, Alliyambal, and Edakkad Battalion 06. He served as a judge on Star Singer Season 9 (Asianet, 2024) and a mentor on Star Singer Season 10. In August 2025, he entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 and finished as the fourth runner-up.
