Alina Padikkal is an Indian television anchor and actress born on 12 December 1995 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, hailing from Kottayam. Her father, K. Padikkal, is a businessman; her mother, Bindu Philipose, is a homemaker. She completed her schooling at Holy Angels' ISC School, Thiruvananthapuram, and earned a BA triple major in Psychology and English Literature from Christ University, Bangalore, before enrolling in an MBA at Oxford College, Bangalore. She began her hosting career at age 8-9 in 2004 on Asianet's children's program Butterflies, for which she won the Kerala State Television Award for Best Anchor (2005) - one of the youngest recipients. After this, she hosted programs on various channels including Surya TV, Kiran TV, Asianet Plus, Mazhavil Manorama, Kairali TV, Flowers TV, and Kaumudy TV. She made her acting debut in 2016 as Nayana in the Asianet serial Bharya, for which she won the Asianet Television Award for Most Popular Actress (2017). She has also hosted Komady Circus and D4 Dance Junior vs Senior (Mazhavil Manorama), the chat show Day with a Star (Kaumudy TV), and Start Music Aaradhyam Paadum (Asianet, Seasons 1, 2, 4 & 5). On 5 January 2020, she entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 2 as a Day-1 contestant. She was evicted in Week 6, then re-entered the house on Day 55 (Week 8). She remained until the show's cancellation on 20 March 2020 (Day 75), making her one of the show's finalists.
