Arya Babu (stage name: Arya Badai; real name: Arya Satheesh Babu) is an Indian actress, comedian, television host, model, and entrepreneur born on 13 September 1990 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Her father Satheesh Babu was an accounts manager at Fort Hospital (he passed away in November 2018); her mother is Prema Satheesh Babu; she has an elder brother (who passed away in October 2018) and a sister Anjana Satheesh. She completed her schooling at Holy Angels' Convent School, Thiruvananthapuram. She trained in western, cinematic, and semi-classical dance forms. She made her acting debut in class 12 with two episodes of the Amrita TV serial Officer (2006). She married IT engineer Rohit Susheelan (brother of actress Archana Suseelan) in 2008; the couple had a daughter Roya in 2010 and separated in 2018. She began her professional career through the Tamil soap Maharani (2009-2011, Star Vijay). After a maternity break, she returned to TV with serials including Mohakkadal, Achante Makkal, and Ardram, and modelling for brands like Chennai Silks and Chemmanur Jewellers. After impressing in the reality show Stars (Asianet), she was cast in Badai Bungalow (Asianet, 2013-2018), the long-running comedy that made her a household name - winning the Santhadevi Memorial Award for Best Comedy Actress (2017) and the 3rd Asianet Comedy Award for Best Performer TV (2016). She has since appeared in serials Sthreedhanam (Asianet) and hosted shows including Start Music Aaradhyam Paadum (Seasons 1, 2, 4 & 5, Asianet). Her film credits include Kunjiramayanam (2015), Punyalan Private Limited (2017), Honey Bee 2: Celebrations (2017), Alamara (2017), and Chiyyaro (2021). In 2018, she opened the designer boutique Aroya in Vazhuthacaud, Thiruvananthapuram. On 5 January 2020, she entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 2 as a Day-1 contestant. She used her immunity power in Week 9. She remained until the show's cancellation on 20 March 2020 (Day 75), becoming one of the finalists. In 2024, she got engaged to DJ Sibin Benjamin.
