Dhruvanth Talwar, born Charith Balappa, is a Kannada television actor born in 1988 in Bantwal, Karnataka, and raised in Kodagu. He holds an MBA degree and worked in the corporate sector as a Customer Service Executive at HSBC (UK) from 2008 to 2009 before following his passion for acting. He appeared in multiple Kannada serials before achieving breakthrough fame with his portrayal of Dr. Dhruvanth in the popular Zee Kannada/Star Suvarna serial Muddulakshmi. The role was so impactful that fans began calling him Dhruvanth Talwar — a name he adopted professionally. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2021, he temporarily left the serial; actor Karthik Samag stepped in as replacement. He made his Kannada film debut with Salmon 3D (2023). In 2024, he was arrested in Bengaluru on charges of sexual harassment, assault, and death threats following a complaint by a television actress — a controversy that overshadowed his career. Despite this, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 in 2025, where he openly addressed his legal struggles. He was evicted in the show's final week, finishing in 7th place.
