Eshani Chandrashekar (ಈಶಾನಿ ಚಂದ್ರಶೇಖರ್), known professionally as Eshani, is an Indian singer, rapper, and songwriter born on 13 September in Mysuru, Karnataka, into a Hindu family. Her father is Chandrashekar Krishnamurthy, her mother is Indrani Shekhar, and she has a younger brother, Karthik Vishwas. She grew up in Dubai and completed her BBA (Honours) degree at Heriot-Watt University Dubai Campus in 2016. She is currently based in Los Angeles, USA, but maintains deep connections to Karnataka through her music. She launched her recording career in 2016 with the English single 'HAZY' and built her discography with tracks including 'Freedom', 'Right or Wrong', 'Pretty Face', 'Not Your Typical Brown Girl', 'FREAK' (Acoustic Version), 'Tensed Up', 'ATTN', 'Scream', 'Babycakes', and a cover of Adele's 'Hello'. Her debut album W.O.H was released on 17 December 2018, and she was featured on the cover of City Times magazine (Dubai) that same year. She expanded into Kannada-language music through her collaboration with rapper Rahul Dit-O on the song 'Urmila' (July 2022), also appearing in its music video. In February 2023, she contributed vocals to the Kannada song 'Right or Wrong'. She performed in the opening act for legendary Indian folk singer Kailash Kher's concert in Bengaluru on 7 October 2023 - the day before she entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10. She is an avid traveller and passionate animal lover. In October 2023, she entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10 as the third contestant introduced and was eliminated in Week 6 as part of a double elimination (Day 40), finishing seventeenth overall.
