Hina Khan is an Indian actress born on 2 October 1987 in Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, into a Muslim family originally from Uttar Pradesh. Her father Aslam Khan runs a travel agency in Srinagar. She completed her MBA from CCA School of Management, Gurgaon in 2009. She auditioned for Indian Idol during her studies before being cast in Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, one of India's longest-running serials, where she played the iconic role of Akshara Singhania from 2009 to 2017. The role turned her into a household name across India. She participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 8 in 2017, finishing as first runner-up. In 2017, she entered Bigg Boss Season 11 and, despite being a constant target for eviction, fought her way to the finale and finished as the first runner-up. Her strong, vocal personality made her one of the most discussed contestants in Bigg Boss history. She went on to make her film debut and returned to Bigg Boss 14 as a Senior. She married her long-time partner Rocky Jaiswal in 2025.
