Jahnvi R (born Jhanvi Karthik) is an Indian actress, news anchor, video jockey, and television host born on 29 September 1988 in Hassan, Karnataka. She grew up in Karnataka and was raised in a family that encouraged her interest in media and communication. She began her career as a news anchor on leading Kannada channels including Udaya News and News18 Kannada, later transitioning to entertainment as a VJ and host on Chandana TV, where she interviewed major Kannada celebrities including Shiva Rajkumar, Kiccha Sudeep, and Darshan Thoogudeepa. In 2021, she participated in the mother-child reality show Nannamma Super Star Season 1 with her son Granth, and also conducted Sreesanth's first-ever Kannada interview. She made her Kannada film debut in the suspense thriller Adhipatra (2025) opposite Roopesh Shetty, directed by Chayan Shetty, and later made her Tamil debut in Yuvan Robinhood (2026). In 2025, she entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 12 as the first officially revealed contestant. During the show, she candidly spoke about ending a 12-year marriage, citing alcoholism as a contributing factor. She was evicted in Week 9, finishing in 15th place.
