Kirik Keerthi, whose real name is Keerthi Kumar, is a Kannada journalist, social commentator, program producer, and radio jockey from Shankaraghatta, Shivamogga. He completed his schooling at Sri Aurabindo High School, Shankaraghatta, and studied journalism at Sahyadri College, Shivamogga, before furthering his education at Kuvempu University, Shimoga. He worked as a journalist for TV news channels under the name 'Keerthi Shankaraghatta', and became widely recognised across social media as 'Kirik Keerthi', a persona he used to champion the rights of Kannadigas and oppose anti-Kannada activities. His media career has included roles as programme producer at Colors Kannada, editor at Samaya TV and Samaya News, and associate producer at Kasturi Media. He has also served as editor of the online publication 'The New Indian Times'. He collaborated with rapper Chandan Shetty on the viral song 'Namma Bengaluru'. In 2016-17, he participated in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 4 and emerged as the runner-up.
