Maitthily Jawkar (also spelled Maithili Javkar) is an Indian actress, producer, dancer, and politician from Dapoli, Ratnagiri district, Maharashtra - the Konkan coast region. She studied at New English School, Dapoli, and completed an MA in Hindi Literature from Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai. She was actively involved in cultural activities from her school days and is a practitioner of Karate for six years. She is also a horse rider and swimmer. She established herself as a popular actress in Marathi cinema and television, and is widely recognised as a face representing rural and Konkan Maharashtra. She produced and starred in the Marathi comedy play Chhabu Weds Babu (with Raju Bang). Her Hindi TV debut was in the Colors TV crime reality show Hoshiyar Sahi Waqt, Sahi Kadam (2016). She is a representative of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) - the youth wing of BJP. In 2017, she was elected as a member of the Maharashtra Censor Board, and later became its CEO. In 2016, she filed a complaint against Ganesh Pandey of BJYM Mumbai for molestation charges. In 2019, she participated in Bigg Boss Marathi Season 2 on Colors Marathi, hosted by Mahesh Manjrekar. She was the first contestant to be evicted from the season - eliminated in Week 2 (Day 13) - finishing 17th (last).
