Mannara Chopra (born Barbie Handa) is an Indian actress and model born on 29 March 1991 in Ambala Cantonment, Haryana. Her mother, Kamini Chopra Handa, is a jewellery designer and her father, Raman Handa, is in the medical field. She is the paternal cousin of actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas (who suggested she adopt the Chopra surname) and actress Parineeti Chopra. She made her Bollywood debut in the Hindi thriller Zid (2014), co-starring Karanvir Sharma. She has acted in multiple language industries - her Telugu credits include Thikka (2016) and Rogue (2017), and she has also appeared in Tamil and Kannada films. She made headlines when a film director kissed her on the cheek without consent at a promotional event, sparking national debate. In October 2023, she was the first contestant to enter Bigg Boss Season 17, where she formed a close bond with winner Munawar Faruqui. Despite being in the majority alliance for much of the season, she finished as the Second Runner-Up at the grand finale on 28 January 2024.
