MC Stan, born Altaf Tadavi on 30 August 1999 in Pune, Maharashtra, is an Indian rapper, lyricist, music producer, and composer who has become one of the biggest names in Indian hip-hop and trap music. Growing up in a working-class Muslim family in Pune, he began his musical journey as a qawwali singer at age 12 before discovering rap. He named his stage persona after Eminem's fanbase, Stan. He rose to underground prominence with his diss track Khuja Mat (2018) responding to Emiway Bantai's song that had taken a jab at several rappers. His debut album Tadipaar (2020) and subsequent album Insaan (2022) cemented his reputation in the Desi hip-hop scene. The song Haath Varthi (2023) became a massive mainstream hit. In 2022–23, he participated in Bigg Boss Season 16 on Colors TV, hosted by Salman Khan, and emerged as the winner on 12 February 2023, receiving a trophy, a cash prize of Rs. 31.80 lakh, and a Hyundai car. He made his Bollywood debut with the title track of the film Farrey (2023) and collaborated with international DJ/producer KSHMR on a hip-hop album.
