Neethu, also known as Neethu Shetty, is an Indian actress who predominantly appears in Kannada-language films and a few Tulu and Malayalam films. She was born on 2 September 1988 in Mangaluru, Karnataka, to Manjunath Shetty (from the Bunt community) and Mohini (from a Konkani-speaking family). She began her career with the Kannada serial Punya (directed by Nagathihalli Chandrashekhar) and made her film debut with the Jaggesh-Komal starrer Govinda Gopala. She earned critical appreciation for her debut Malayalam film Photographer (2006) alongside Mohanlal, and became a household name with Gaalipata (2008), for which she received a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. With a career spanning over two decades and 35+ films, she worked alongside actors such as Ramesh Aravind, V. Ravichandran, and Diganth in various hit Kannada films. In 2014, she participated in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 2, staying in the house for 76 days and becoming the first contestant in Bigg Boss Kannada history to be placed in a secret room rather than being evicted, before eventually finishing eighth.
