Noora Fathima (also known as Fathima Noora) is an LGBTQ+ activist, IT professional, and digital content creator from Kerala, born to a family with roots in Kozhikode whose father runs a supermarket in Saudi Arabia. She grew up primarily in Saudi Arabia where she met her partner Adhila Nasarin as a classmate in 12th grade. In 2022, Noora was allegedly confined by her family after they discovered her same-sex relationship with Adhila. Adhila filed a habeas corpus petition in the Kerala High Court on her behalf. The court ruled in the couple's favour, affirming consenting adults' right to cohabit regardless of gender — a landmark ruling for LGBTQ+ rights in India. Noora was subjected to conversion therapy and both she and Adhila faced cyberbullying and familial opposition. The couple uses their Instagram platforms (@adhila_noora and @noora_adhila) to advocate for queer visibility and produce lifestyle content. In August 2025, they entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 7 together — the first same-sex couple to enter the show — and got engaged on national television, becoming an icon of LGBTQ+ representation in Indian mainstream media. They were evicted in week 14.
