Prajakta Shukre is an Indian singer, music director, and music producer born on 29 November 1987 in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Her passion for classical Indian music was recognised from the age of four, and she was classically trained from early childhood. She gained national recognition at 17 when she auditioned for Indian Idol Season 1 (2004–05) while still in Class 12, becoming the only female contestant to reach the top five and finishing fourth. Following the show, she built a respected playback singing career across Bollywood and Marathi cinema, lending her voice to films including Tees Maar Khan, Hamari Atariya, Man Kyu Behaka, Jaane Kya Baat, and multiple Marathi productions. She is also the founder and creative head of Namyoho Studios, a music production house where she mentors new talent. In January 2026, she entered Bigg Boss Marathi Season 6 as one of the original contestants and served as the season's first captain. She was eliminated in Week 9, finishing twelfth.
