Bio
Dr. Rajith Kumar R. is an Indian university professor, public speaker, writer, and social activist born in 1969 in Kizhuvilam village, Attingal, Thiruvananthapuram district, Kerala. He studied at Government Model Boys Higher Secondary School, Attingal, before earning a BSc in Botany from Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram, and an MSc from NSS College, Pandalam. He further earned an MPhil in Cytogenetics, a PhD in Microbiology (with a gold medal), a BEd in Natural Science, a BLIS, an MS in Psychotherapy, and a Diploma in Vedanta. He teaches Botany at Sree Sankara College, Kalady. He is a public speaker and the author of motivational books including Vijayathilkku 22 Padikal: Steps to Success and Thiricharivu: The Power of Discrimination. In 2013, while speaking at Government Women's College, Thiruvananthapuram, he made comments that were widely condemned as misogynistic, stating that 'good children are born to those who live as men and women.' He was subsequently barred from government programmes by Kerala Health Minister K.K. Shailaja for spreading superstition and social discord. He also made controversial claims including that women who wear jeans give birth to transgender children. On 5 January 2020, he entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 2 as a contestant. On Day 65, he was temporarily ejected by Bigg Boss for physically assaulting Reshma Rajan (rubbing chilli paste into her eye during a task). On Day 70, he was permanently ejected after Reshma refused to allow his re-entry into the house, finishing 12th.
