Rinku Dhawan is a veteran Indian television actress born on 15 February 1976 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She attended St. Anthony Girls' High School in Mumbai. Her sister Jhanvi Vohra and cousin Ashita Dhawan are also television actresses. She made her acting debut in 1995 in DD National's Swaabhimaan before playing Phoolan in the Zee TV sitcom Hum Paanch. Her career-defining role came in 2000 when she played Chhaya Agarwal in the beloved Ekta Kapoor production Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii (Star Plus, 2000-2008) - one of the longest-running Hindi serials ever. She subsequently appeared in Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha (2012), Yeh Vaada Raha (Zee TV, 2015, for which she shaved her head for a scene), Gupta Brothers (2020), and Choti Sarrdaarni (Colors TV). She was married to her Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii on-screen sibling Kiran Karmarkar in 2002; they separated in 2017 and divorced in 2019. They have a son, Eshaan. In October 2023, she entered Bigg Boss Season 17 as an original contestant and was evicted in Week 11 (Day 76), finishing 13th overall.
