Sampoornesh Babu is an Indian actor and comedian who hails from Siddipet, Telangana. Before entering the film industry, he worked in a jewellery shop in Siddipet. He made his screen debut in a cameo in Mahatma (2009) before being launched as a full-fledged lead by director Mahesh Kathi in Pesarattu (2012). His breakthrough came with the cult hit Hrudaya Kaleyam (2014, also directed by Mahesh Kathi), in which his larger-than-life comic performance - including wild hairstyles and over-the-top expressions - went massively viral on the internet, earning him the affectionate nickname 'Burning Star' and the CineMAA Award for Best Actor in a Comic Role. He has appeared in numerous films in lead, supporting, and comedy roles, including Current Theega (2014), Bandipotu (2014), Jyothi Lakshmi (2015), Where Is Vidya Balan (2015), Lacchimdeviki O Lekkundi (2015), Bhadram Be Careful Brotheru (2016), Raja the Great (2017), Devadas (2018), and Kobbari Matta (2018, as the lead, opposite Karuna Kumar). He is also known for his popular dialogue 'Sri Sri Sri Super Star Sampoornesh Babu ki Jai!' In 2017, he entered Bigg Boss Telugu Season 1 on Day 1 but voluntarily walked out of the house in Week 2 (Day 8), finishing 15th.
