Sapna Choudhary is an Indian dancer, singer, stage performer, and actress born on 25 September 1990 in Mahipalpur, Delhi, and raised in Rohtak, Haryana. Her father Bhupendra Atri passed away in 2008, when Sapna was 18, and she took on the responsibility of supporting her family. Financial constraints prevented her from pursuing higher education beyond 12th grade. She launched her professional career performing at local orchestra and Ragini groups in Haryana and neighbouring states. Her breakthrough came with the Haryanvi song Solid Body Rai, and she became a phenomenon across North India when the dance video for Teri Aakhya Ka Yo Kajal went viral on YouTube and social media. She is widely referred to as the Desi Queen of Haryanvi music and dance, and has performed extensively alongside fellow dancer Gori Nagori. In 2017, she entered Bigg Boss Season 11 as a commoner contestant, which introduced her to a nationwide audience and significantly expanded her fan base. She was evicted in Week 8, finishing eleventh. She has since appeared in Bollywood film item numbers and entered The 50 reality competition in 2026.
