Bio
Sirija (ಸಿರಿಜ), popularly known as Siri, is an Indian actress born on 8 August 1988 in Chikkaballapur, Karnataka. Her father Lakshman's native is Mysore and her mother is from Chikkaballapur; the family later shifted to Bengaluru. She began her acting career while still in 9th grade, when director S. Narayan cast her as a supporting character in his Kannada TV serial Ambika. Rather than taking the offered lead role, she took a smaller part to manage alongside her studies. Her Telugu film debut came with Ninnu Choodalani (2001, directed by VR Prathap, produced by Ramoji Rao), where she played the sister's role opposite N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Raveena Rajput. Her most celebrated television work came with Rangoli (Udaya TV, 2002), a remake of the hit Tamil serial Kolangal, in which she played the lead for approximately 6.5 years and 1,500+ episodes. She was also in her PUC when filming Rangoli. In Kannada cinema she appeared in Dil (2002, with Tiger Prabhakar and Darshan Thoogudeepa), Simhadriya Simha (with Vishnuvardhan), Chandu (with Sudeep and Sonia Agarwal), and Deva Naga (2011). On television she appeared in Kogile (2015, Udaya TV), Bande Baratava Kala, Sambanda (Udaya TV, lead), Baduku (ETV Kannada, 2014-2020, lead, 1,600+ episodes), Mane Ondu Mooru Bagilu (ETV), and Ramachari. She also appeared in the Kannada serial Naagini and in television shows on Asianet and Zee. In October 2023, she entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10 and was eliminated in Week 12 (Day 83), finishing tenth overall. After Bigg Boss, she married Mandya-based businessman Prabhakar Bore Gowda at Bhoga Nandeeshwara Temple, Chikkaballapur, in June 2024.
