Suchithra Nair (സുചിത്ര നായർ) is an Indian television actress, anchor, and classical dancer born on 28 May 1996 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. Her father is Vikraman Nair and her mother is Prasanna. She attended St. Mary's Higher Secondary School, Pattom, Thiruvananthapuram, and earned a B.A. in Commerce from Mar Ivanios College, Trivandrum. Inspired by Telugu actress Bhanupriya's dancing in Rajashilpi, she began training in Mohiniyattam at age six under the tutelage of Neena Prasad - a Mayilpeeli Award and Nritya Chudamani Award winner - and trained for nine years, also participating in various classical and semi-classical stage programmes. Her dance skills first brought her recognition in the mythological serial Krishna Kripa Sagaram (Amrita TV, 2018), where she played the role of Goddess Durga. She subsequently appeared in further mythological and family-drama serials before landing the breakout role of Padmini (affectionately called Puppy) in the Asianet daily soap Vanambadi (2017), one of the most memorable antagonist portrayals in recent Malayalam television. Her fashion sensibilities on the show - in particular her saree draping style and ornament choices - set trends in Kerala. She also won a beauty contest conducted by Metro Manorama in 2018, which led to her anchoring the popular music show Start Music on Asianet. She later appeared in Malayalam films Malaikottai Vaaliban (2024) and Ottakomban. In March 2022, she entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 4. She was evicted in Week 9 (Day 62), finishing thirteenth overall.
