Suman Setty (సుమన్ శెట్టి), also spelled Suman Shetty, is an Indian actor and comedian born on 1 May 1981 in Miryalaguda, Telangana (originally). He grew up in and is settled in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. His acting potential was first identified by renowned cine story writer Satyanand, who encouraged him to pursue film work. He made his debut in the blockbuster Telugu film Jayam (2002), directed by Teja and starring newcomers Nitin and Sadha. His portrayal of the comic character Ali Baba earned him the Nandi Award for Best Male Comedian from the Government of Andhra Pradesh. His unique dialogue modulation, expressive mannerisms, and striking resemblance to legendary Tamil comedian Senthil made him instantly recognisable to audiences. Over the following two decades, Suman appeared in 190+ Telugu and Tamil films, including 7/G Brindavan Colony (2004), Sankranthi, Happy, Annavaram, Ready (2008), and many others. He is married to Naga Bhavani and resides in Visakhapatnam. In 2025, he entered Bigg Boss Telugu Season 9 as a celebrity contestant and was evicted in Week 14, finishing sixth overall.
