Dr. Utkarsh Anand Shinde is an Indian homeopathic doctor, singer, music composer, lyricist, actor, and social activist born on 11 January 1986 in Pimpri-Chinchwad, Maharashtra. He comes from one of Maharashtra's most celebrated musical families - his grandfather is the legendary Marathi folk singer Prahlad Shinde (a Padma Shri recipient), his father is the legendary Ambedkarite and Marathi singer Anand Shinde, and his younger brothers Adarsh Shinde and Harshad Shinde are established playback singers. His mother is Vijaya Shinde. He is married to Dr. Swapnaja Narwade (m. 2016) and they have a child. He completed his schooling at MTS Khalsa High School, Goregaon West, Mumbai, and earned his Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) from Dr. D.Y. Patil Homeopathic Medical College, Pune. He subsequently completed a Master's degree in Homeopathy from the University of London and a Postgraduate Diploma in Environmental Sciences (PGDES) from Longwood University, Virginia, USA. He worked as a Homoeopathic Doctor at Dr. Shinde's Multispecialty & Homoeopathy Clinic before returning to music. His music career includes composing for Marathi films Power (2013) and Phoonkar (2015) - for which he received the Atulya Gaurav Sanman in 2015. He was nominated for Best Singer at the 7th Nashik International Film Festival for 'Ghungarachya Talamandi' from the film Priyatama (2014), in which he co-starred with his father and brother. He has sung and composed Ambedkarite, Shivaji Powada, Bhimgeete, and folk songs widely popular across Maharashtra, including 'Maza Bhimaraya', 'Aai Aahe Swarg Baba Darwaja', and during the COVID-19 pandemic, 'Go Corona Go' and 'Covid Yoddha Mhana'. He is also the President of the Swarsamrat Pralhad Shinde Charitable Trust and Director of Vijayanand Music Private Limited. He entered Bigg Boss Marathi Season 3 on 19 September 2021, won the first Captaincy task, and became the season's first Captain. He finished fourth in the grand finale on 26 December 2021.
