Shanthakumaran Nair Sreesanth (born 6 February 1983) is a former Indian international cricketer from Kothamangalam, Kerala. He is a right-arm fast-medium-pace bowler and right-handed tail-end batsman. Raised in a family with his father S. R. Vellapan (a banker) and mother Savithri Devi, Sreesanth was a national break dance champion in eighth grade before dedicating himself fully to cricket, training at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai. He made his Test debut in March 2006 against England and over his international career took 87 Test wickets, 75 ODI wickets, and 20 T20I wickets. He was part of India's championship squads in the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup. In the IPL, he played for Kings XI Punjab, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, and Rajasthan Royals. In 2013, the BCCI imposed a life ban after he was accused of spot-fixing in the IPL while playing for Rajasthan Royals, a charge he consistently denied. The Supreme Court of India later cleared him of criminal liability, and he returned to domestic cricket for Kerala in 2020 before retiring in 2022. In 2018, he participated in Bigg Boss 12, finishing as runner-up after 104 days.
Playing as India's right-arm fast-medium bowler in the 2007 ICC T20 World Cup and 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup victories, and for his controversial life ban by the BCCI following the 2013 IPL spot-fixing scandal.
