Juhi Parmar is an Indian actress, anchor, dancer, and singer born on 14 December 1980 in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, into a Rajasthani family. She was raised in Jaipur, Rajasthan, where she competed in and won the Miss Rajasthan beauty pageant in 1999, which led to her entry into the entertainment industry. She has a sister, Hina Parmar. She made her television debut in the Zee TV series Woh (1998) as Samidha, and progressed through early roles in Choodiyan (Sony TV, 2000) and Rishtey before her career-defining breakthrough with Kumkum – Ek Pyara Sa Bandhan (Star Plus, 2002–2009, produced by Ekta Kapoor), in which she played Kumkum — a devoted, traditional wife and mother — across all seven years of the show. The role made her a household name across India, earning her the Best Actress (Critics) at the Indian Telly Awards (2005) and multiple Star Parivaar Awards for Favourite Bahu, Bhabhi, and Patni. She subsequently hosted several popular television programmes including Rakhi Ka Swayamwar, Amul Star Voice of India, Antakshari – The Great Challenge, and Chhote Miyan Bade Miyan. She won Comedy Circus 2 (Sony TV, 2008) alongside comedian VIP. Her later acting roles include Karmaphal Daata Shani (Sony TV, 2016–17, as Devi Chhaya), Tantra (2018), Hamariwali Good News (Sony TV, 2019–20), and Yeh Meri Family (SonyLIV, 2018). She was also active in Pakistani serials including Pehchan. In October 2011, she entered Bigg Boss 5 on Colors TV, hosted by Sanjay Dutt and Salman Khan. After 97 days, she was crowned the winner on 7 January 2012, receiving a prize of ₹1 crore. She was previously married to Gujarati actor and businessman Sachin Shroff (married 2009, divorced 2018); they have one daughter, Samaira Shroff (born 2013).
