Kamya Panjabi, also known as Kamya Shalabh Dang, is an Indian television actress and politician born on 13 August 1979 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. She made her acting debut in 2000 and built a reputation for portraying strong, often negative characters in Hindi television serials including Reth, Astitva...Ek Prem Kahani, and Banoo Main Teri Dulhann. She played a positive lead in Maryada: Lekin Kab Tak and gained a new generation of fans with her role in Shakti – Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki. She was previously married to Bunty Negi (2003–2013) and they have a daughter. In 2013, she participated in Bigg Boss Season 7 and finished sixth. She married Dr. Shalabh Dang in 2020. On 27 October 2021, she joined the Indian National Congress party.
