Nikita Thukral is an Indian actress and model born on 23 November 1983 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, into a Punjabi Hindu family. She completed a Master of Arts in Economics from Kishinchand Chellaram College, Mumbai. She subsequently married Gagandeep Singh Mago in 2017 and the couple has one child. She began her film career in Kannada with Ganda Hendathi (2006), a film that gave her early visibility. She then entered Telugu cinema, appearing in Bujjigadu: Made in Chennai (2008, starring Prabhas), Nenu Devudni (2011), and Lovely (2012). In Tamil, she appeared in the thriller Muran (2012, opposite Cheran and Prasanna) and the masala film Alex Pandian (2013). Her most prominent Kannada roles include the historical epic Krantiveera Sangolli Rayanna (2012) and cameos in Namaste Madam and Namo Bhootatma (2014). She also worked across Malayalam productions and appeared in Bollywood productions in smaller capacities. In March 2013, she entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 1 hosted by Kiccha Sudeep, becoming one of the most talked-about contestants for her sharp opinions and clashes with fellow contestant Chandrika. She finished as the second runner-up on 30 June 2013.
