Kuri Prathap (real name Prathap) is a Kannada comedian and film actor from Bengaluru, Karnataka. He began his film career in 2007 with a small role in Sixer and steadily built his profile through supporting and comedy roles in popular Kannada films including Satya in Love (2008), Mylari (2010), Godfather (2012), Brindavana (2013), Auto Raja (2013), and Case No. 18/9 (2013). He became a beloved household name through the comedy show Kurigalu Saar Kurigalu on Udaya TV, from which he earned his distinctive stage name 'Kuri' — a nickname that stuck permanently. He later became a mainstay of Zee Kannada's flagship comedy variety show Majaa Talkies, hosted by Srujan Lokesh, and also appeared in the prank show Kuri Bond. His natural comic timing and audience-friendly persona made him one of Kannada television's most popular entertainers. In October 2019, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7 as one of the original contestants. Competing for 112 days, he reached the grand finale and finished as the First Runner-Up on 2 February 2020, narrowly losing to Shine Shetty.
