Amulya Omkar Gowda (ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಒಮ್ಕಾರ್ ಗೌಡ), affectionately called Ammu, is an Indian television actress born on 8 January 1993 in Mysuru, Karnataka. Her father Omkar Gowda is a businessman and her mother is a homemaker. She completed a Diploma in Computer Science and participated in the Zee Kannada game show Yaariguntu Yaarigilla before a friend suggested she audition for serials. She made her acting debut with Swati Muthu (Star Suvarna, January 2014), followed by a small role in Punar Vivah and then the role of Hitha Pradhan in Aramane (Star Suvarna, May 2019). Widespread recognition came with her lead role as Kamali (and later Ambi) in the Zee Kannada daily soap Kamali (from May 2018), a village-set drama for which she had to master a rural Kannada dialect - she became known as the 'cutest vamp' for the show's popular negative turns in the storyline. In March 2022, she made her Telugu television debut as Shourya/Jwala in Karthika Deepam (Star Maa). She is affectionately described as a fitness enthusiast with two tattoos - a crown on her left ankle and another on her right wrist - and is a huge fan of Darshan Thoogudeepa. In September 2022, she entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 as the eighth contestant. She was evicted in Week 13, finishing eighth overall.
