Anupama Anandkumar Gowda (ಅನುಪಮಾ ಗೌಡ) is an Indian actress and television anchor born on 20 March 1991 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. Her father Anandkumar Gowda encouraged her to pursue cinema; her sister Tejaswini Anandkumar is also an actress. She attended Sheeba English High School, Kamakshipalya, Bengaluru, and completed a fashion designing course at the Indian Institute of Fashion Technology (IIFT), Bengaluru. She began as a child artist in the Kannada film Lankesh Patrike (2003, with Darshan and Vasundhara Das), and made her television debut in Halli Duniya (2011). Her major breakthrough came as Devika and Bhoomika in the popular Zee Kannada serial Akka (2014-2017), establishing a strong fan following. She starred in the Kannada film Nagaari (2015) and earned critical acclaim for her role as Mallika in the thriller Aa Karaala Ratri (2018, dir. Dayal Padmanabhan), for which she received SIIMA nomination for Best Debut Kannada Actor-Female (2019) and the Karnataka Women Achiever Award for Excellence in TV (2021). Further films include Thrayambakam (2019), Raja Vaaru Rani Garru (2019), Puta 109 (2019), and Benkiyalli Aralida Hoovu (2020). In 2017, she participated in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 5, lasting until Day 98. She then transitioned to hosting, anchoring Majaa Bharatha, Kannada Kogile, Super Minute, Serial Santhe, Papa Pandu Family Function, Raja Rani (Colors Kannada, 2021), and Nannamma Super Star (2021). In September 2022, she returned to Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9, completing 90 days before being evicted in Week 13 (jointly with Amulya Gowda), finishing ninth overall.
