Arun Sagar (ಅರುಣ್ ಸಾಗರ್) is an Indian actor, art director, comedian, and television host born on 23 October 1963 in Sagara, Shimoga district, Karnataka. He is married to Meera and has two children, Surya Sagar and Aditi Sagar. He built his career across two parallel disciplines - art direction and comedy-acting - and was recognised by the Karnataka film industry for both. As an art director, he began with the environmentally-themed Kannada film Bhoomi Geetha, which won the National Award for Best Environmental Film. He received the Karnataka State Award for Best Art Direction for the Telugu-Kannada devotional blockbuster Sri Manjunatha. He has worked with senior directors including Poori Jagannadh, Meher Ramesh, Veerashankar, and K. Raghavendra Rao across numerous Kannada and Telugu film productions, including Vishnuvardhana, Sanju Weds Geetha, and Marma. He ran the children's TV show Tarrle on Kasturi TV, teaching art and craft. His comedy career accelerated through the Asianet Suvarna sketch show Maja with Sruja (2010-2011, where his most popular character was Chidlupudi Chidananda) and the TV9 Kannada satirical programme Koyyam Kotra (2013, a show modelled on The Week That Wasn't, with 25 episodes). He returned to TV with Comedy Circle on ETV Kannada and later hosted Simpallag Ondu Singing Show and Bengaluru Benne Dose (2015-16). In 2013, he was the very first contestant called into the Bigg Boss Kannada Season 1 house (ETV Kannada), finishing as the runner-up. In 2022, he returned for Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 as the seventh housemate, completing 90 days before being evicted in Week 13, finishing seventh overall.
