Daya Ashwathy is an Indian social activist and content creator born on 21 June 1984 in Mundur, Palakkad district, Kerala. She got married at the age of 19 and has spoken publicly about early marriage, including about her own mother being married at age 15. She has worked in Bahrain for two years and is known for her passionate Facebook Live videos discussing social and women's issues. She regularly makes TikTok and short-form videos and is passionate about raising awareness of social causes affecting women. On Day 21 of Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 2 (Week 3), she entered the Bigg Boss house on Asianet as a wildcard entrant alongside social activist Jazla Madasseri. She was evicted in Week 6, then re-entered the house on Day 55 (Week 8) alongside Alina Padikkal and Reshma Rajan. She remained until the show's cancellation on 20 March 2020, becoming one of the finalists.
