Aswin Vijay (അശ്വിൻ വിജയ്) is an Indian magician and mentalist born on 8 March 1998 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. His life story is one of extraordinary survival: his mother suffered from mental illness and left the family when he was barely two years old, and his father subsequently died by suicide. He was taken in by his grandmother, who raised him under financial hardship. When he was in Class 12, his grandmother passed away on the morning of his board exams; he was subsequently asked to leave the house. He spent a period living at a railway station without adequate food and sold his grandmother's ring to fund his first hostel stay. At the hostel, he was drugged by fellow residents and later shared that he was sexually abused at age 17. He also shared that after 22 years of searching, he eventually found his long-lost mother - who, due to her mental illness, could not recognise him. Despite these challenges, he found his calling in magic and mentalism, training rigorously to become a professional performer. His dedication earned him records in both the India Book of Records and the Asian Book of Records as the fastest magician. He has performed across India as well as in Oman, the UAE, Maldives, Kuwait, and Malaysia (as listed on his Instagram). He performs under his own brand, Aswin Vijay Productions. In March 2022, he entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 4 and immediately served as the first house captain before being dethroned after being voted least performing. He was evicted on Day 27 (Week 4), finishing seventeenth overall. His candid in-house disclosures about his past deeply moved audiences and fellow contestants.
