
Sanam Shetty is an Indian model and actress born on 12 November 1985 in Bengaluru, Karnataka, to a Tulu father and Telugu mother. She studied at Candor International School, Bengaluru, and completed a degree in Software Engineering in London. Before entering films, she worked as a Software Engineer at Tata Consultancy Services. Her interest in acting was sparked while working on a Sri Lankan documentary in the UK. She made her film debut with the Tamil film Ambuli (2012) and has since appeared in films across multiple languages, including Katham Katham, Vellaiya Irukiravan Poi Solla Maatan, Sadhuram 2 (Tamil), Srimanthudu, Singam 123, Premikudu (Telugu), and Atharva (Kannada, 2018). She was belatedly crowned Miss South India 2016 in 2019, and received a Guinness World Record certificate that year for showstopping at the longest-running single fashion show. In 2020, she participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4 and was evicted in Week 9, finishing 13th.
