Geetha Madhuri (గీత మాధురి) is an Indian playback singer and voice artist born on 24 August 1989 in Palakollu, West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh, into a Brahmin Hindu family. Her father Prabhakar Sastry Sonti was an employee at the State Bank of Hyderabad and her mother Lakshmi is a homemaker; she is their only daughter. The family moved to Hyderabad when she was young. She completed her schooling at Loyola Model High School, Vanasthalipuram, and Little Flower Junior College, and earned a B.Com from Aurora College, Hyderabad. She trained in classical music under Kocherlakota Padmavati and in light music under Ramachari of Little Musicians Academy. Her playback singing debut came with the folk song 'Bakka Sikkina' in Kulasekhar's Premalekha Rasa (2006). National fame arrived with 'Ninne Ninne' from Nachavule (2008, starring Tamannaah), which won her the Nandi Award for Best Female Playback Singer. She has since become one of South India's most celebrated voices, recording 2,500+ songs across five languages. Her collaborations span legendary composers including Ilaiyaraaja, K.V. Mahadevan (Keeravani), Mani Sharma, Devi Sri Prasad, Thaman S, and Yuvan Shankar Raja, among others. Notable hit songs include 'Darlingey' (Mirchi, 2013, Gamma Award), 'Top Lesipoddi' (Iddarammayilatho, 2013), 'Pakka Local' (Janatha Garage, 2016, Sankarabharanam Award), 'Jeeva Nadhi', 'Chamka Chamka', and 'O My God'. She has won the IIFA Award and Filmfare Award South for Best Female Playback Singer and received 50+ major awards. She has also appeared on television shows including Swarabhishekam, MAA TV Super Singer 7, and Super Masti. She has acted in the Telugu short film Aditi alongside her husband Nandu. She married actor Ananda Krishna Nandu on 9 February 2014 in Nagole, Telangana; they have a daughter Daakshayani Prakruthi (born August 2019) and a son. In 2018, she participated in Bigg Boss Telugu Season 2, emerging as the first runner-up on 30 September 2018.
