Aari Arjunan (real name: Aari Arujunan) is an Indian actor, fitness trainer, and philanthropist born on 12 February 1985 in Palani, Tamil Nadu. He was educated at Arulmigu Palaniandavar Matriculation School and MK College, Tamil Nadu. Before entering films, he built an extensive background in theatre - performing with groups like Magic Lantern, Theatre Nisha, and Inland Theatres for over seven years - and worked as a professional body-sculpting fitness trainer for actors including Aadhi, Sasikumar, Parthiban, and Ameer. He made his acting debut with Aadum Koothu (2005) alongside Navya Nair and Cheran, and followed it with films like Rettaisuzhi (2010) and his breakthrough role as Murugan in Nedunchaalai (2014), for which he won the Film Fans Association Best Actor Award. He also appeared in Maya (2015). An active social activist, he holds two Guinness World Records - for transplanting seedlings with 3,000 students and for the most signatures on a whiteboard. He is married to Nathiya Sivakumaran, an HR professional from the UK, and the couple has a daughter. In 2020-21, he participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4 hosted by Kamal Haasan and emerged as the winner.
