Akshay Kelkar is an Indian actor born on 16 March 1992 in Kalwa, Thane, Maharashtra. His father Jayendra Kelkar worked as an autorickshaw driver, and Akshay grew up in modest circumstances. He studied commercial art at the L.S. Raheja School of Art, Worli, Mumbai, before pursuing acting. He began his career with the Marathi serial Be Dune Daha (Star Pravah, 2014), where he played Kabir. He subsequently appeared in Kamala (Colors Marathi), Madhuri (Marathi film, 2018), Don Cutting 2, and the web series Full Tight. His profile rose significantly with the lead role of Abhishek Gokhale in the Sony SAB comedy serial Bhakharwadi (2019) and then nationally through his role as Suresh Mane - the supportive husband of the eponymous lead - in Nima Denzongpa (Colors TV, 2021-2022). He also hosted the Lavani-based show Dholkichya Talavar and later played Sant Nivruttinath in the biographical film Sant Dnyaneshwaranchi Muktaai (2025). In October 2022, he entered Bigg Boss Marathi Season 4, hosted by Mahesh Manjrekar. Earning the nickname 'the angry young man of the season' for his heated confrontations, he also served as House Captain twice and won the Captain of the Season award at the grand finale. On 8 January 2023, he was crowned the winner, taking home a trophy, a gold bracelet, ₹15.55 lakh cash, and a ₹5 lakh cheque.
