Aranthangi Nisha is an Indian actress and stand-up comedian born on 12 October 1983 in Aranthangi, Pudukkottai district, Tamil Nadu. She belongs to a middle-class Muslim family. Her husband Riaz Ali works as a junior tradesman at the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation, and the couple has a son (Harshath Riaz) and a daughter (Safa Riaz). She studied at Government High School, Aranthangi, and completed her graduation from JJ College of Arts and Science, Pudukkottai. Before entering the screen, she performed in over 800 stage comedy shows across Tamil Nadu. She first gained wide television recognition as the first runner-up on Vijay TV's comedy reality show Kalakka Povathu Yaaru Season 5 (2015). She made her Tamil film debut with Kalakalappu 2 (2018) and went on to appear in Irumbu Thirai, Maari 2, Kolamaavu Kokila, and Aan Devathai (all 2018) and Seemaraja. She also hosted Cooku with Comali (2019, 2020) and Mr. and Mrs. Chinnathirai. In 2020, she participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4 and was evicted in Week 10 (Day 70), finishing 11th.
