Aryavardhan (ಅರ್ಯವರ್ಧನ), real name Varadraj, is an Indian numerologist, astrologer, and television personality born on 5 July 1978 in Hassan, Karnataka. He is currently based in Bengaluru. Earlier in life, he worked as an auto-rickshaw driver before transitioning into numerology and astrology, gradually building a practice in which clients consult him daily for name corrections, business names, and guidance on life decisions. He became a regular presence on Kannada television channels, where he made predictions about politicians, cricketers, film stars, and public figures. He came to nationwide attention when he predicted - months in advance - that the then Chief Minister of Karnataka B.S. Yediyurappa would resign by August 2021; Yediyurappa resigned on 26 July 2021, validating the prediction and earning Aryavardhan widespread media coverage. He was, however, severely trolled on social media for inaccurate predictions of IPL 2022 match results, where he used jersey numbers and numerology to forecast scores and man-of-match awards, and was frequently proven wrong. In August 2022, he participated in Bigg Boss Kannada OTT Season 1 on Voot as a contestant, finishing in the Top 4 and earning a direct entry into the TV series. He then entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 in September 2022. He was evicted in the penultimate week (Day 92), finishing sixth overall. In a significant controversy post-Bigg Boss, he was arrested from Poompuhar in Tamil Nadu following a complaint by a woman from Andhra Pradesh; he was booked under IPC Sections 354, 420, 506, and 504, and later released on bail.
