Deepika Das is a Kannada actress, dancer, and entrepreneur born on 23 February 1993 in Bengaluru, Karnataka. She is the daughter of Kishore Das and Padma Latha, and is the cousin of Kannada superstar Yash (of KGF fame). As a child she played cricket, shotput, and was captain of her school kabaddi team. She graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) with a degree in Fashion Communication and later founded the clothing brand D-Das Fashions. She made her acting debut in the 2014 Kannada film Doodh Sagar and also appeared in the Telugu film Ee Manase (2014). Her television breakthrough came with the lead role in the Zee Kannada supernatural serial Naagini — the Kannada adaptation of the popular pan-India franchise — which ran across two seasons (2016–2018) and made her a household name. She won the ZeeKu Tumba Award (2017) and Zee Award (2018) for her performances. She won the dance competition show Dance Karnataka Dance: Family War Season 1 (2022) alongside her family. She went on to participate in Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 (2022) as a returning contestant. In October 2019, she entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 7. Her close friendship with winner Shine Shetty was widely covered. She was evicted on Day 111 (just before the finale), finishing as Third Runner-Up.
