Iris Maity is an Indian model and actress from Kolkata, West Bengal. She is the daughter of Bhaskar Maity, a former national-level football player who represented India at the Asian Games in 1979. She completed her graduation in science and earned an MBA degree in marketing. She is a trained dancer, martial artist, and can also sing and paint. She first entered the public eye by winning Miss India Tourism Metropolitan in 2007 and the Channel V modelling reality show Get Gorgeous Season 5 in 2008 - winning a ₹1 million contract with Channel V and ICE Model Management. She was adjudged 'I AM Photogenic' at the I AM She 2010 pageant in Mumbai. She worked with designers Manish Malhotra and Varun Behl, and appeared in print campaigns for Fair & Lovely, Nestle Munch, and Satya Paul, as well as a TVC for 7 UP. Her Bollywood film credits include Soch Lo (2010, as Riva) and Tutiya Dil (2012, as Anuradha/Anu), as well as the TV show SuperCops vs Supervillains. She was the first housemate introduced when Bigg Boss Bangla Season 1 premiered on 17 June 2013, hosted by Mithun Chakraborty on ETV Bangla. She was evicted in Week 7, finishing in 11th place.
