Jaan Kumar Sanu (born 24 July 1991 in Mumbai, Maharashtra) is an Indian singer and the son of legendary Bollywood playback singer Kumar Sanu (known for hits like 'Ek Ladki Ko Dekha', 'Tip Tip Barsa Paani') and his first wife Rita Bhattacharya. He grew up in Mumbai and trained as a singer, aspiring to carry forward his father's musical legacy. He began releasing independent singles including 'Haseen Chehra', 'Naina Barse', and 'Teri Yaadon Mein', building a following on social media. He was announced as the very first officially confirmed contestant of Bigg Boss 14 (2020). In October 2020, he entered Bigg Boss 14 as the first housemate. Despite the considerable name recognition of his father, he struggled to build a strong enough audience support base and was evicted in Week 8 (Day 50), finishing 22nd overall. A notable controversy during his time in the house involved him making a remark widely perceived as derogatory towards the Bihari community, which drew public criticism.
