Bio
Kireeti Damaraju (కిరీటి దమర్జు) is an Indian actor and theatre artist born on 14 January 1986 in Hyderabad, Telangana (originally from Andhra Pradesh). He attended St. Paul's High School and SRM Junior College, Hyderabad, and earned a B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Maturi Venkata Subba Rao Engineering College (MVSR), Hyderabad. After graduating, he worked as a Service Engineer at Electronic Arts (EA) Mobile in Hyderabad and subsequently at Sony India Software Center. He later quit his engineering job to pursue his passion for acting, first through theatre shows and then short films. He is an avid gamer and has a deep interest in Japanese anime and manga, which he credits for influencing his approach to comic roles. He debuted as an actor with the short film Ontiganta (2011), followed by Anukokunda (2013), which was shortlisted for the Cannes Film Festival and served as his launching pad into Tollywood. He made his feature film debut as 'Subbarao' (the bridegroom role) in Second Hand, then appeared in Uyyala Jampala (2013, as Kireeti/the bridegroom), Bham Bolenath (2015), Meeku Meere Maku Meme, Yevade Subramanyam (2015), Vunnadhi Okate Zindagi (2017), Mental Madhilo (2017), Chal Mohan Ranga (2018), Taxiwala (2018), Zombie Reddy (2021), and DJ Tillu. He also appeared in the Telugu comedy TV show Many Happy Returns (dir. Gunnam Gangaraju, 2016). Host Nani famously introduced him on Bigg Boss as 'Tollywood's official pelli koduku' for his recurring bridegroom roles across films. In June 2018, he entered Bigg Boss Telugu Season 2 and was evicted on Day 20/21 (Week 3), finishing seventeenth overall.
