Koneenica Banerjee (Bengali: কনিনীকা ব্যানার্জী) is an Indian actress born on 21 May 1980 in Kolkata, West Bengal. She is a commerce graduate from Sivanath Sastri College, affiliated with the University of Calcutta. She is married to Surajit Hari (m. 2017). She made her television debut in the Zee Bangla serial Swapnanil and rose to wider recognition through the long-running serials Tomar Patho Cheye, Maanbhanjan, and Kader Kuler Bou. Her big screen debut came with Moloy Bhattacharjee's Tin Ekke Tin (2004), followed immediately by Rabi Ojha's Abar Ashibo Phire (2004), in which her dual role as Gauri/Pritha earned her the Anandalok Puroshkar for Best Actress (Critics) and the Kalakar Award for Best Rising Star. She continued in Bengali films including Chor O Bhagoban (2003), Babu Masai (2005), I Love You (2007), Chalo Let's Go (2008, as June, dir. Anjan Dutt), Goraay Gondogol (2012), Chotushkone (2014, dir. Srijit Mukherji), Haami (2018), Mukherjee Dar Bou (2019), Tonic (2020), and web series including Hoichoi Unlimited (2018). On television she has appeared in Andarmahal, Sarkar ki Duniya, and played the lead role of Sohochori Gupta in the popular Star Jalsha serial Aay Tobe Sohochori (2021, 341 episodes). She entered Bigg Boss Bangla Season 1 in June 2013 and finished as second runner-up (3rd place) in the grand finale on 14 September 2013.
