Dr. Majiziya Bhanu is an Indian powerlifter, bodybuilder, arm wrestler, and dental surgeon born on 1 December 1994 in Orkkatteri, Vadakara, Kozhikode, Kerala, into an orthodox Muslim family. Her parents are Abdul Majeed and Razia Majeed. She attended Iringal Islamic Academy English School and Orkkatteri Government Vocational Higher Secondary School, then earned her Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from the Mahe Institute of Dental Sciences. She began her journey in strength sports in 2016 after joining a boxing class during college. Her then-fiancé (now husband), Nour Ahmad Kohan Alizaey, showed her images of Muslim women competing in powerlifting while wearing a hijab, inspiring her to pursue the sport. She competed in her first official event - the Kozhikode District Powerlifting Championship - in July 2016, shortly after beginning training. She then rapidly accumulated gold medals at district, state, and national levels, winning the Kerala State Powerlifting Championship and the Kerala State Unequipped Powerlifting Championship multiple times. She was named the Strongest Woman of Kerala by the Kerala State Powerlifting Association three times by 2018. She also entered bodybuilding, winning the women's Model Physique division at the Mr. Kerala Championship in February 2018 - reportedly the first Muslim woman to do so in Kerala. She has also won the Miss Kerala Fitness and Fashion 2018 title. She entered Bigg Boss Malayalam Season 3 on 14 February 2021, bringing an unusual combination of physical power and academic achievement to the house. She was evicted in Week 6, finishing sixteenth.
