Poornima Ravi (பூர்ணிமா ரவி), popularly known as Araathi Poornima, is an Indian actress, YouTuber, and digital content creator born on 5 October 1995 in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. Her father Ravi Somasundaram is a businessman and her mother Usha Ravi is a school teacher; she has an elder brother, Kishore Ravi. She completed her schooling at Shrishti Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Vellore, and graduated in Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), before briefly working as a computer programmer. She launched her YouTube channel Araathi on 2 July 2019, producing relatable comedy sketches, film reviews, and women's empowerment content that quickly resonated with Tamil audiences. The channel grew to over 3.3 million subscribers and 991 million+ views. She was honoured with the Favourite Actress on YouTube Award by Black Sheep Digital Awards in 2020 and 2021, Best Digital Content Creator by Behindwoods in 2021, and the Women Entertainer Award by Radio City Tamil in 2022. She made her Tamil film debut in Plan Panni Pannanum (2021) and went on to appear in Chotta (2022), Annapoorani (2023), and Sevappi (Aha Tamil, 2024, lead role). In 2023, she participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 7 and, on Day 96, accepted a cash walkout prize of ₹16 lakh — the highest walkout amount in that season's history — finishing eighth overall.
