Rahul Bhatt is an Indian actor and fitness trainer born on 5 May 1983 in Mumbai, Maharashtra. He is the son of acclaimed filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and his first wife Kiran Bhatt; his half-siblings include actress Pooja Bhatt (from Mahesh Bhatt's second wife Soni Razdan) and actress Alia Bhatt. He pursued acting and also trained in fitness, working as a personal trainer. He made his Bollywood acting debut in Vikram Bhatt's Footpath (2003, featuring Emraan Hashmi) and appeared in other Hindi productions including Bhanwre (2004). He became the subject of extensive national and international media scrutiny after revelations emerged in 2009–2010 that he had a personal friendship with David Coleman Headley — the Pakistani-American terrorist who conducted reconnaissance for the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the FBI both investigated the connection; Rahul maintained he was unaware of Headley's terrorist activities. He entered Bigg Boss 4 in October 2010 as one of the original housemates, where his father Mahesh Bhatt's celebrity status and his own controversial associations made him a media talking point. He was evicted in Week 5 on Day 33, finishing 12th overall.
