Rahul Krushna Vaidya (born 23 September 1987 in Nagpur, Maharashtra) is an Indian playback singer, composer, and television host. His father Krushna Vaidya is an engineer at the Maharashtra State Electricity Board. He studied classical music under Suresh Wadkar and Padma Wadkar in Mumbai and trained further under Himanshu Manocha. He attended Mithibai College, Mumbai. As a child, his singing was noticed by his mother at a local bhajan performance. He entered Indian Idol Season 1 in 2004 (while in Class 12), reaching the top three and finishing second runner-up on 18 February 2005 — a result that launched his career instantly. He released his debut album Tera Intezar (2005, music by Sajid-Wajid), sang the Shreya Ghoshal duet 'God Promise Dil Dola' for Shaadi No. 1, contributed to Race 2, Krazzy 4, and other Bollywood productions, and performed widely at live events. He also hosted the reality shows Jjhoom India (Star Plus, 2007) and Aajaa Mahi Vay (Star Plus, 2008) and won Jo Jeeta Wohi Super Star (Star Plus, 2008). In October 2020, he entered Bigg Boss 14 as one of the original contestants. His Bigg Boss stint included a voluntary exit on Day 70 (Week 10), citing personal reasons, but he returned as a wildcard on Day 74 (Week 11) with renewed determination. His on-stage proposal to actress Disha Parmar during Weekend Ka Vaar became one of the season's most iconic moments. He married Disha Parmar on 16 July 2021. He finished as the First Runner-Up at the Bigg Boss 14 finale on 21 February 2021.
