Rio Raj (real name: Fantin Rio Raj) is an Indian actor, video jockey, and TV host born on 17 February 1989 in Erode, Tamil Nadu. He studied at Boys Government Higher Secondary School, Erode, and completed a Diploma in Computer Science at Guru Ragavendra Polytechnic College. He began his career in 2006 with the Star Vijay serial Kana Kaanum Kalangal Kalloori Saalai. He then moved to Sun Music as a VJ, gaining wide popularity by hosting shows like Kaloorikalam, Suda Suda Chennai, Your Attention Please, and Free Ah Vidu, earning the nickname 'Sun Music Rio.' He returned to Star Vijay in 2016 as the lead of Saravanan Meenatchi Season 3. He won the Vikatan Best Anchor Award in 2014. His film career began with a supporting role in Sathriyan (2017), followed by his lead debut in the Sivakarthikeyan-produced comedy Nenjamundu Nermaiyundu Odu Raja (2019), and Joe (2023). He is married to Shruthi Ravi (since 2017) and has a daughter named Rithi. In 2020, he participated in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 4 and finished as the second runner-up.
