Roopesh Shetty (ರೂಪೇಶ್ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ) is an Indian actor, radio jockey, video jockey, director, and content creator born on 14 August 1991 in Uppala, Kasaragod, Kerala, into a Tulu-speaking Bunt family. He grew up in the coastal Mangaluru region of Karnataka and is deeply rooted in Tulu culture. He attended school in Kasaragod and later relocated to Mangaluru for higher studies and his entertainment career. He began his entertainment journey by uploading Tulu comedy album songs on YouTube, which quickly built him a regional fan base. He then worked as a Radio Jockey at 92.7 Big FM Mangaluru, and as a VJ and television host. His film career began with Danger Zone (2016) in Kannada, where he played the lead role. Subsequent film appearances include Adhipatra (2023) and Vaira (2024). He has been active across short films, YouTube content, and live performances, becoming a well-known personality in coastal Karnataka's entertainment scene. He is also known for his social work and charity efforts. In August 2022, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada OTT Season 1 on Voot, hosted by Kiccha Sudeep, and became its winner - receiving ₹5 lakh prize money and a direct entry into the TV season. In September 2022, he entered Bigg Boss Kannada Season 9 (Colors Kannada/JioCinema) as one of four OTT finalists. Over 99 days of competition, his calm demeanour, genuine warmth, and consistent integrity won massive public support. On 31 December 2022, he was crowned the winner by host Kiccha Sudeep, receiving the trophy, ₹50 lakh in prize money, and ₹10 lakh from sponsors - becoming the only person to win both the OTT edition and the main television season of Bigg Boss Kannada.
